DraftLens
Last updated 10 October 2026
DraftLens replays how a Google Doc was written. The document and its analysis stay in your browser.
Stays in your browser
The document’s revision history is read with your own Google session, and the replay, statistics and PDF reports are produced in your browser.
Local history keeps statistics only, not document text.
Class batches read the documents you list, or those from Google Classroom assignments, in the same way.
Sent to our server
School sign-in only: we ask Google to confirm your account’s email address, match its domain to your school, then activate a seat for your browser. The email address is not stored; the school sees how many seats are in use.
No document text, student names or reports are sent to us.
Like every extension we make: your install id, your licence if you have one, usage counts for plan limits, and optional “Help improve” data if you turn it on. See the main privacy policy.
Google permissions
Asked for only when you use the feature, and used only for it:
classroom.courses.readonly, classroom.coursework.students.readonly, classroom.rosters.readonly: Class batch: lists your courses, assignments and the submitted Google Docs so they can be analysed in your browser.
userinfo.email: School sign-in: confirms your school email domain to claim a seat.
DraftLens’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don’t use Google user data for advertising, don’t sell it, don’t let people read it except with your consent, for security or where the law requires, and don’t use it to train AI models.
Students
DraftLens is a tool for teachers and students. It is operated by the teacher or student in their own browser; we do not collect students’ personal information.
Your choices
Uninstalling removes everything the extension stored in your browser. To have the data on our server deleted, email us.
We never sell your data or use it for advertising. DraftLens follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
